Quickly browsing the net using my slow connection, I came across these three new stunning news for Google:
- Search Without Boundaries: I don’t know what the service is exactly called, but through Google Translate you can search using one language, and get the results of another language, along with translation to your selected language.
- Google Talk PC to Phone VOIP: An image has been shared around the web of new Google Talk version that will allow PC to Phone calls. No details of the service is available yet, but all we know it’s another Skype killing attempt. I just hope it doesn’t enforce Google Checkout, I still hate it.
- Google Acquires FeedBurner: The acquisition rumors seem to be true, and an acquisition will take place for $100 million in cash.
That’s some week for the search giants now. If there is another service Google can start making money of, I’d say it’s PC to Phone if they don’t screw things up. So far people love Google Talk crazy.

Some specialists can analyze and judge your personality through an interview, from your signature, your way of walking and other stuff. I think you can do so also by looking at a person’s PC. Does he use the default IE browser or does he use Firefox? If the latter then he is not a person who simply moves with the crowd. He is someone who is welling to change, to try different things and pick what he wants rather than live on what he was given. Ofcourse some IE users have already tried Firefox and sometimes IE7 but chose the current IE version.
You can also tell how organize this person is by looking at his desktop. Also how much he takes control of his live and try to optimize it. Many desktops are full of shortcuts to programs which the user never really tends to use, they just create them selves by default. I hate every program that does it, I should be always given the option to not create it. As a matter of fact I should be given the option to create it not vice-versa. Another terrible mistake people tend to fall into is having so many programs run on system startup by default, unaware it’s all time costly practice at the end for things they are not going to use. Why do they do that then? They either don’t know about it or can’t figure out how to disable it. Many programs do a great job to force them selves to this automatic startup, and if you ask me, it all fires back at them in the end. The more the program tries to take control over my PC the more I keep away from it.
What can you look at also? If he is someone who uses Edit -> Copy -> Edit -> Paste then most likely he is not the geek I’d like to hang out with. Keyboard shortcuts are real time savers that normal users very often ignore, despite it’s simplicity. If you see the person using a computer with an Apple brand on it, this is either a luxurious person or real computer geek who seeks efficiency.
So what do you think? What can you make out of someone’s computer use habits?

A nice and neat new feature from Google. Google Experimental lets you search for terms and see their results and events over the course of Timeline. The service is still new and you can see lots of empty gaps even when you search for Google. You can enjoy searching for your favorite topics like Monkey Island or Sam & Max. See how the Sam & Max comics started in 80’s, was turned into a game in 93, strange announcement from The Adventure Company and Telltale to bring Sam & Max season 1 to stores in 1996! (That’s one flaw) The real link points to PDF document dated 2007. How in 2002 there was a hope for Sam & Max 2, 2004 marked the death of adventure games at Lucasarts. It’s still in testing phase, but quite fun and useful too.

The long awaited and anticipated A Vampyre Story adventure game, which has been delayed for months and months in failing attempts to sign a publisher, is now getting publishers fighting over after seeing the potential it has. For few days now, I have been getting alerts to the Google Alert I have “(vampyre story) OR amegames”. Every now and then I think about trying alternatives to what I use. As for online ads, it’s always been Google Ads. When I tried others, I found out they all have higher minimum Cost Per Click, and I even tried Microsoft Ad Center, which after completing the sign-up process took me back to the first page to sign-up again! With some services you can accept minor bugs and glitches. But when you are putting your money and business on the line, you need to trust how accurate this system will calculate the cost, and how efficient and flexible it is. How much you can rely on it. With BidVertiser, this is my story:
I signed up few months back to give it a shot. For some reason I did not use their service back then, probably because of high minimum cost-per-click or high minimum daily budget. Right now it seems their minimum CPC is down to $0.01, so that’s good. Anyways, I stopped there last time and since then they kept chasing me with promotional offers via email. Today I got a $20 FREE credit to use, so I said what the heck? I will use it anyways, and then decide if the service is worth investment. They somehow allowed themselves to send me the username and password in clear. Makes you wonder how secured your balance is. Anyhow, I still wanted to use the FREE gift, but upon trying to sign-in, I got invalid username/password provided! But HOW? I copied and pasted the same username/password and still the same thing! OK, I will use Forgot Password instead. Providing my email address I got this nice sorry message:
“Sorry, but the E-mail address you specified, “***@gmail.com” is not associated with any Advertiser account.”
How on earth can you be sending me promotional emails with my username/password and then say I don’t have any advertiser account! This is when you should walk away from the service, and never turn back. But before, let’s unsubscribe from their service so I don’t keep receiving their emails.
Ooops…
“If you wish to unsubscribe from the Publisher Email Notifications, simply login to your account and choose to unsubscribe under “Account Management -> Edit Profile”.
I have to be signed-in to unsubscribe. But I can’t sign-in since I’m not registered, yet I do receive emails because I did register. Or perhaps I didn’t! Confusing hah! So now what? Simply click Report Spam and that’s it for little BidVertiser.

The CEO who has made the open source Firefox browser a $55million revenue generator gets interviewed APC Magazine. The interview talks about the startup of the current fast booming browser, future plans to have it on mobile (that would be something) and other interesting stuff. It’s the first time here I read about the Cairo rendering engine and the possible Adobe Flash threat.
