It’s Raining Publishers on AME Games

The long awaited and anticipated A Vampyre Story adventure game, which has been delayed for months and months in failing attempts to sign a publisher, is now getting publishers fighting over after seeing the potential it has. It reminds me of the chicken that was planting seeds, only after it was fresh to eat people started gathering. For few days now, I have been getting alerts to the Google Alert I have “(vampyre story) OR amegames”. You can tell how much I am waitig for the game, and if you are too, I suggest you subscribe to the same news. Here is what I got today:

Holy … But these aren’t exactly huge publishers and there’s the potential for the Majesco-couldn’t-advertise-Pyshconauts-well-enough problem. And that the game could end-up not being funny.
I always had the impression that Bill Tiller was too much of a huge art fan and not a huge enough game fan. One of my problems was the screenshot of Mona in the well.
See, I have this knack of putting as many jokes, references, and surprises in my writings or (hopefully, in the future) as possible. The scene with the well … why couldn’t they scratch “I will put the lotion on my skin or else I will get the hose, I will put the lotion on my skin or else I will get the hose” like the way a bad student writes on a chalkboard? It’s a nice reference to The Silence of the Lambs.
On the other hand, the game looks gorgeous and I hope it won’t disappoint. A potential problem would be that since Crimson Cow – a German publisher – is doing most of the financing most of the acting-budget will be spent on the German version and the game will sound funny in English, unless Ascaron solves this problem.
Right, rant over. Sorry.
