Google charges for “Never delete an email again”!
Google have started offering extra storage space for annual small fee. The new space will be shared among user’s different applications, like Picasa Web Album and Gmail for now. This is bother frustrating and a bit of relief. Frustrating in the sense that Gmail started with the promise that you never have to delete an email again. Size will keep increasing forever. However the pace of increase is extremely slow, and thanks to some of my friends, I reached %93 and going up real fast. I know I can filter and delete some mails, but I don’t like to. I loved the concept which Gmail was based on. My Gmail is like my file storage, my memo which I refer back to very quickly every time I need some old history mail. It’s a shame Yahoo! have delivered what Google promised year back, and now we have to pay Google if we want it.
Recently, I was forced to start filtering emails from certain people who send large attachments usually, and direct them straight to the secondary email I created, which ofcourse is not checked so regularly. It’s just a backup. I created an exception for mails with subject :WORK, but still, that’s not so convenient. On the long run, I will have 3 to 4 email accounts I have to try each one of them to search for one thing. I think the below pricing is not so bad after all I am giving it a shot.

Ofcourse the bad news is, I have to use Google Checkout and my experience with it is not so great at all.

I wouldn’t care since I’m still using hotmail as my primary email and gmail for work and backup. Though the idea of gmail money interest is bugging me even if I would never be part of it.
