Democracy in Kuwait
Democracy is something that is promoted about Kuwait. It is said that the freedom of opinion is preserved. Now before moving any further I should note I am not a politician, I don’t know much about it, and my blog is not about politics as most of you already know. However what happened recently in Kuwait calls for strong action, and the least we can do is to shed some light on it.
Below are the sources of news about latest arrests from security officials on newspaper editors, how they captured them and refused to show him any proof of identity, claiming that their words of being security men is enough proof, and there is no need to protest. This means that any man in the street ofcourse can pull you out of the car and say he is security official. It’s up to you to take your chances and disbelieve him. Their houses have also been searched at night without official permission. If this was happening in the US, one damn hell of a fight is gonna happen inside the court room, not to mention the public protest along it. This case now has evolved and it is being escalated here in Kuwait also. Let’s see how it goes. If this goes unpunished, farewell to the freedom of opinion here. It hasn’t been there fully anyways, but to some extent I could say we at least had it. Unfortunately I tried to search Google News but it doesn’t seem to capture the what’s supposed to be biggest event in Kuwait right now. Protest groups are gathering up today at this very moment.

NOTE: Al-Qabas Google translation is a bit hard to follow, it’s not quite understandable. Al-Jarida was better interpreted.
