Google Presentation - And Google Office is Ready!
Posted by Bashar under Google, Internet, Technology, Tools
Google Documents now has Presentation as part of its online collaboration tool, and with that, Google almost have a full Office online tool. You can access it from the same New menu for Spreadsheet and Document. I have given it a quick shot. It’s got the main simple functionalities of a presentation tool. Text, image, different fonts, duplicate slide, nice and easy text box movement around the slide. I didn’t see any sound or transition options. The editor is quite easy to use and fast as well. I was impressed. Viewing the presentation took a bit of time with my humble connection, but it’s nice you can see who is joining the presentation online. Give it a shot at Google Docs.

Ali Deera Chat: Thanks for the tip on lotus. I read about it and want to look at it.
Google Apps is no where near Microsoft Office I know. It’s a long way to go, if ever. Instead it’s a strong feature for online collaboration that I find could come in handy. For example if I work on project, I can collaborate with my partner, show my work to client and share the demo. All for FREE.
As for Cnet podcast and yours, thanks. Musaed gave me the hint I needed for long time. I placed my order for iPod and now waiting for it just for the sake of those useful and interesting podcasts. Thanks :)

but the big question is : what if you are offline????

offline. Good question. Google have started implementing Google Gears, which is a small client to enable some Google stuff to be browsed offline, like Google Reader. It hasn’t been much of a success as far as I know though.
