The Power of the Blogosphere

Almost anyone these days can have a blog, it’s made so great easy not only to launch, but to customize to great level as well. Some people took blogging as a way of loving. Some use it to write about their day to day stuff, and after a while, get fed up and leave it. I tend to think there is a lot more to the Blogosphere than just this. It’s a way to share the experiences, different cultures, different opinions, and news on all various stuff. Other bloggers/readers out there choose what they want to read, whenever they want, and wherever they want (Thank you RSS Feeds). My most joy is when I write a useful article that I see people making use of. What makes me more pleased is when I see old posts getting hits and visits by people searching the web, getting my page, hopefully answering their question. And you can’t imagine how good (and funny) it felt when I got this comment today, which I assumed a spam on a 9 months old post partly about Amazon resellers sending to wrong virtual addresses.

“DUDE! Mystery solved…I sell books (very few and as kind of a hobby) on Amazon, and someone bought a book with the wierd “Kwi ####″ in the address. If I get a weird address, I always type it into the USPS zip code finder to see if it’s viable. With the Kwi prefix, it says it’s NOT a viable address…so I typed in the address into Google and this blog came up! Now that I know that the KWI is a virtual mailbox, I’m just going to mail it and let the winds of fate have their way.”

Have I not written about my experience with Amazon, or have I only written my mind on it without giving some details about the matter, this seller may have not known the address, and the buyer would not have gotten his item. Also, if this kind seller have not taken the time to write those few lines, I wouldn’t know how I could be serving people’s need better. So thank you.

Moral of the story is, you can share your personal experience, give some details and insight, and try to come with useful headlines and phrases for future web searchers. In my case my title wasn’t directly helpful, but the details of the mailing address came in handy. In Kuwait specifically, the best place I look for site reviews is the Kuwaiti blogs, either search Q8Ba7th, or KuwaitBlogs Search.

I know exactly what you mean. Man I still get hits on really old posts in my blog, like for example this topic attracts almost 40% of my daily hits. It is really nice to see your help topics ecco through the web.

MacaholicQ8: Nice, short, and useful topic of yours. As a matter of fact, I remember the first time I visited your blog, and why I added it to my RSS Reader. It was this

I thought it’s nice to see some people in Kuwait giving solutions rather than problems.

Thanks.

The real time I have experienced and enjoyed the actual power of the blogosphere was when I got contacted by Al-Babtain group regarding my car issue. I never though that topic would reach out to them and I’m glad it did. : )

MacaholiQ8: Interesting really how corporates are noting the power of the blogosphere. I got contacted by Aramex once.
