Cinescape keeps giving people more and more reasons to abandon them. I used to go once every 1/2 weeks, now I only go occasionally just for a change. And on that occasion, I had to cancel my bank paid tickets for personal reasons. Could someone please explain this to me!
- I already paid for this ticket, it’s not a free coupon to have an expiry date. You are keeping the money for my future use of the service.
- Do not try to fool the minds of people that you actually can’t refund the online paid money. Knet online payment have easy way to refund the money directly to user account, and I’m pretty sure all others have as well.

Its not that bad .. most cinema’s (Mall of the Emirates) don’t even accept cancellations. And while the process to refund the money is simple .. its the accounting that the real headache.

K.TheKuwaiti: So Kuwait Cinema is not the worse in this? Good to know, but still. I can understand when someone does not allow refund of clothes that I wore, or gadget I opened. But a ticket that I canceled more than 12 hours before the show, just something virtual and no harm done. That’s bad customer service I say. At least, give more than 30 days. It’s my money after all. I would agree with 90 days say. Long enough. Not all people go to cinema every week. I think I will give it to someone else. Problem is, they have to go on Monady :P It’s 3 KD only.
Mall of Emirates, I wasn’t really impressed by Emirate cinemas as a whole. Mall of Emirates was first to have iMax I heard, which is so much later than Kuwait. Avenues seems to have copied their design from them though.

Hmmm.. well I second K., I mean it’s ok if they don’t refund bas they are giving you an alternative..

chickapappi: Oh, guess I’m hard to satisfy customer then :)

Bashar, going to the cinema means you’ve accepted the fact that you’re going to be ripped off. Basically, once you step in, you can’t complain.

3baid: OK. I agree with you completely there :)
You really shut me… and sorry for thinking of going there. Just wanted to give the wife a change.
What can you do to women who don’t believe in virtual life?

But with Mall of the Emirates you get:
A great film print (no snow or scratches, great sound, excellent seats, a huge selection of good food, organized edited pre-film pool (adverts, ‘coming attractions’ ‘main feature’ titles), a Ratings system (i.e. no crying children watching RAMBO and no 1 hour chunks edited out of flicks) etc etc
There is no comparison.
The only decent thing about the Cinescape system is the online seats reservation - thats about it really -

Gold Class (MoE) > VIP (Cinescape-Avenues).
That said .. I put a projector in my diwaniya, no editing or noisy people.

Hilaliya: hilaliya: It seems you are regular visitor of MoE. I only went there once at early days. Didn’t utilize all the luxuries. Just enjoyed the Corpse Bride movie I loved
K.TheKuwaiti: So where is your diwniya :)
Popcorn on me.
Kidding. Home Theater is the best I say. Problem is, I dont like using pirated movies, and original ones take time to release. Also, I’m not sure I can always avoid kid’s noise ;/

I’m not a movies person myself but I used to go to the movies alot then I stopped recently when they raised their prices, not to mention the cheap collection of movies they put up for us.
Here’s a deal Mr. Sony LCD owner…
I leech… you play. And still pop-corn on you. :D

My experience with Cinescape was OK. I canceled my tickets on two occasions and had an online voucher with which I re-used, no problems. It must be a new thing they’ve done

The Aggressor: I had done cancellation before as well, wasn’t like that.

Diwaniya’s in mishref .. you can usually catch us there three times a week (Star Wars Marathon yesterday).

K.TheKuwaiti: Thanks. That’s easy enough to find :). You sound like a lot of people I know :). But 3 times a week, man i die to get a chance every two weeks for one quite movie. I think there is a good reason behind 2 wifes. 1 with kids, the other without, loves movies, and plays games.
