Google doing Safe Site Scan with AVG
Posted by Bashar under Google, Security, Technology, Yahoo
Just like Yahoo started sometime back, Google is in co-operation with AVG scanning their search results for malware sites.

And while this is good in concept, I found the scan to take way too long, that I don’t think people will generally wait to see the result. An option to turn that off was not spotted. This could be troublesome for people with slow connection. Luckily, Google is not mad at my blog, but they better be careful. They don’t wanna make Yahoo’s mistake, or some say trick ;).

Eh. I used to love AVG but stopped after it didn’t catch a bunch of trojans partying at the laptop.

Kroms: Well, just yesterday my PC started acting weird. Every now and then connection halts, Firefox freezes. End of day I ran AVG and it caught 60+ viruses, all from Internet Explorer, which I use occasionally for sites not supporting Firefox.
Stupid thing is, it was not able to clear them it seems. I ran AdAware, and Spyware Doctor. Both were 160+ days old in virus definition, and both did the update fairly quickly, as if there was no update. Makes me wonder, is a virus faking they did update?
I left it running at home now, and it has caught 60+ threats. Let’s hope I get home before my kid makes the decision ;/

Ugh…I’m having the same problem! And I removed AdAware and Spyware Doctor. Grr dammit.

Kroms: When I got home, the screen was black. No response. I can see everything is on, but no response.
Is it the end of the internet ;/

Kroms: Yeah… and all score of social nerds will have to socialize with normal people. You will have to shoot people in the head for real.
Actually, that’s not so bad :)
