Use Photographs to enhance videos
Posted by Bashar under Technology
There are both ups and downs in life, but then comes those strong moments where it hits you hard. Where you just stand there and say, what a joke my life is compared to this.
The system built by University of Washington students uses still photos of the scene, to enhance the relevant videos, giving much higher resolution, removing unwanted light effect or items one time, only to have them removed from the whole clip so easily. You can even get rid of image shaking during video capture.

And having just came back from my vacation in Cardiff, so many videos were taken and I was thinking to my self, God I wish I can find a way to get rid of camera shaking and some blocking items. There is the answer, bringing on the next question. How and when can I get it?

Amazing! I wonder if it is practical enough to put it into a consumer product? I’d love to be able to take videos and take out nosy people who like to jump in front of the camera!

you can get rid of shakes using vegas pro or premiere or even after effects or fusion if theyre really bad.
but yeah i’m really looking forward to this coming out.

Ali: LOL. Haven’t had those nosy people. I went to humanitarian territory called Cardiff :), and YES. I would pay few hundreds perhaps for something that good.
skunk: Thanks. I will look into what you recommended. Not a media guy I tell you :)

I totally get the concept, but it would take a hands on class for me to be able to do the substitutions the video suggests. I love the results - it’s amazing stuff.

I’m betting it’ll be expensive, but in a few years time, this’ll be integrated in every $ 300 cam :]
