Can we trust 6alabat.com?

I was really surprised to see this “Signup Now. Your information will be confidential” box as I was browsing the 6alabat.com page, as I still recall the day they sold us out for spam

So I thought maybe that’s my mistake I didn’t read their privacy policy clearly. I went on to their Privacy Policy page, and at the bottom of the page, under Usage of Information you find this:

So part of the administrative purposes is sending us those emails I presume:

Or was it a judgmental order back then? I’m confused!

Thank you, but no thank you. I have made my mind back then. No more 6alabat for me.

feel like suing ;P

It’s the same when you receive bulk messages through your mobile!

maryam: Yeah, if I have a choice with mobile I would use it as well. But no.

so the admin can send you as many spam as he wants :p
interesting :p

I enrolled through talabat with america online email because i *know* anything that reeks of Kuwaiti/Arab domain will usually sell customers out – america online has a great spamming system, nothing goes through.

nemo: YES! And he hopes you like it! What makes me laugh is his message. Please find attached file! As in I was waiting for it?

hilaliya: Better than Gmail? I thought they’re the best!

They didn’t say they won’t spam you, they said they won’t give your email out to OTHER spammers :P

I think 3baid is right, they deem THEIR spam is acceptable but other spam isn’t! Its sad but companies in Kuwait don’t follow their privacy policy correctly!

3baid: Well they said they will use my email for administrative purposes. How does spamming fall into that exceeds my knowledge

Marzouq: Well it’s up to us the customers to raise or force their awareness then. He’s on my spam list now anyways :)

Informative email to them means spam email to you :P

3baid: R u on their pay roll by any chance :) ?

As the X files say, trust no one.

Even “respectable” companies like Virgin spammed me, once I filled up one of their coupons after a purchase. THey started sending me junk emails several times a week, so I set up a filter to have their emails sent promptly to the trash.

Don Veto: Nice one. I like the quote “Trust is a weakness” I started becoming paranoid to giving my number. I become rude as a matter of fact sometimes when they ask me for email. I tell them…

Me: Is it for spam?
Her: No, if you don’t check the box we won’t email you.
Me: (If I don’t give them my email they won’t be able to spam me either way!) and I just dont give it.

Power of Gmail right? It’s why I dont care so much about spamming companies, but it still pisses me off as a concept.

take it easy :p

nemo: Sure :)

lol! I’ll help you sue them,
I’ll be satisfied with 20% of the deal. ;p

MacaholiQ8: Thanks Mac. Do you mean you will be welling to take 20% of the lawsuit cost? As I doubt the judge in Kuwait would even consider it a valid case!

Either way I appreciate your support :)

Boycott spammers
