Not enough browsers? How about a GreenBrowser?

Last time I read about a new browser I was like “Ohh God, not another browser!”. It was called Chrome and one day after it’s release it became my default one. Not that I’m at all enthusiastic about this now, but history has taught lessons. GreenBrowser is not something that takes the path of simplicity, but rather complexity in features, with rich tab management capabilities, allowing password-locking to the level of a tab, and closing of tab groups with shared base URL.

I don’t have a Windows machine nearby to try it, but it does have a Japanese thumbnail so some people might have faith in it. For full review, read the PC World article.

Nah, I just discovered Flock a month or so back and I’m in love with it and stick with it :D
But thanks for the Info!

Seriously not another a browser…. im happy with 2 on my laptop. IE and Firefox

Nicole: I know about Flock a long time back, but I like browsers with focus on getting work done. I agree for Social things Flock seems the best.

Rayboy: You’re happy with IE @@. I should have comments policy to mark this as inappropriate :P. How about Chrome mate?

hahahah, i had tried chrome. but on many of my sites, it messed up on CSS. so i decided to wait on it.

Rayboy: I rarely had problems with it, we must have different tastes then :)

Their automated test didn’t do you that good afterall

:-)… i built up a couple of websites on pure CSS. but when i played with divs, chrome had their own way of displaying them. So for the sake of the time i had to continue on compatibility testing with IE / FF only…

I loved how Chrome isolates each tab into its own process; a quite useful feature. It also feels very light, unlike IE. For God’s sake, when I open a new tab on IE, & since I’m used to instantly typing the URL following the Ctrl+T keys, I end up typing it in the current tab not the new tab. Guess why? Why? Because it HASN’T OPENED YET. I hate IE. I have to use it at work though for JInitiator plug-in with Oracle Apps.

Firefox gets on my nerves by the slow start-up time when it decides to go for an update that takes 2 minutes to finish. I also faced caching issues with FF.

Safari is another story. Started out fine, but now it just keeps eating up on my RAM like a hungry elephant. Not sure why.

Also tried SeaMonkey & Konqueror.. Chrome owns them all, so far. But I think I’ll give this Green Browser a try, for a change. Sounds sophisticated.

This browser works great for me. I am using it 30-40% of the time. Probably increase it to 70-80% later in a month or two.

Rayboy: I see. I tend to hire designers for CSS, saves me from heart attacks and strokes :P

Nosayba: You totally took my words here. Firefox for all it’s goods takes long to start, and is slower on both Mac and Linux than Windows as I see. IE… Hate Oracle and why they enforce stupid IE. I hate Oracle as a whole as well :)

I never liked Safari, they say it’s fast, but it’s also one of the least secured.

tone health: You mean GreenBrowser? Interesting if yes. I’m 100% Chrome except when I’m on Mac, and these days, I am all the time :/. It feels like a different OS when you use a different browser!

How come no one is talking about opera?! i think it’s a good browser for poor people with IPO “IBM PC Owners” :p I agree with Rayboy, i faced problems displaying so many of my sites since i own a Web design Company, so i think i will wait till they improve it.

For now, i will stick with IE, never liked FF.

Bashar: oops!!! I was confused… I meant Chrome… I will check greenbrowser over this weekend…

Ali: Opera had its days I guess. As for which one is more compliant to web standards, I believe IE comes last until they release IE8 (which looks like never going to happen :P)

tone health: Ohh I C :)

Looks like an IE shell application, which can only mean poor stability :/

Thank you guys for the advice. i am in the web since 93 and never cared about other browsers, or you can say i discovered them when they were first launched, and at that time their features were not that good.

i downloaded FF after this chit chat in Bashar’s blog, honestly, all the problems i was facing with IE8 are solved. i was facing so many issue, one of them was the page alignment issue and now i don’t have that problem any more thanks to FF.

so i guess after all Bashar, your topic helped another person on the web :)

have a good weekend all…cheers

3baid: But it’s Japanese ;)

Ali: Thanks Ali and glad you gave another browser a shot. FF is really awesome, and so is Chrome, if you want speed. I never tried IE8 to be honest. So thanks for reassuring my thoughts :>
