Apple

This is Apple’s official legal response to a lawsuit regarding false iPhone advertisement and misleading customers by saying ”twice as fast for half the price” compared with the original handset, when reality is, it sucks for many people and they’re disappointed.

“Some parts of Apple’s 32-point rebuttal say that the company was being truthful. But one paragraph says, in effect, that anyone who believes what the company says in its ads is a fool” Source
Well, so much for what they call Jesus Phone. It was all a big lie after all.

This would’ve been a lot easier to swallow if the name was anything below genius!

If you are a Google Chrome fan owning a Mac, you probably want to go here and sign-up for the Google Chrome for Mac news update, and get instant notification once the Mac browser version is out (in Beta ofcourse :)

In their words “Google Chrome for Mac is in development and a team of engineers is working hard to bring it to you as soon as possible.” I am really glad to hear about this, but I hope it’s not the reason PC Chrome is not getting good enough attention.

BetaNews is reporting on a deal between Microsoft and Nikon that “covers digital cameras made by Nikon as well as a [range] of other consumer products each company manufactures and sells.” according to Microsoft spokesman.

No further details have been revealed yet about the deal between the two, but BetaNews is predicting it could be around the wireless technology. For me, this brings nothing to my mind but the long anticipated Microsoft Surface.

Just in case you were looking the other way, I thought of sharing this piece of news I read. A recently discovered SERIOUS security hole in the iPhone software would allow, according to the news source, access to your address book, e-mail, text and voice messages. Regardless of how many people actually DO lock their phones, the simplicity of the hack is what concerns me most:

1- Click Emergency Call Button

2- Double Click Home Button

Favorites menu shows up! I am not an iPhone owner, but no one on Engadget seems to be denying it. One guy did suggest a temporarily workaround till a fix is released for it:

This is an issue with 2.0.1 as well. Re configure the home button double tap to go to the home screen and you will be fine till apple fixes this. — Sent from my handheld device” JacindaQeneus

UPDATE: If the issue wasn’t serious, I guess we won’t be hearing Apple already working on a fix for it for next software update.

I always tend to think of iPhone as a cool promising beta product, and with iPhone 3G, it turned out to be no difference.

More and more iPhone 3G customers are getting frustrated and some returning their (holy) iPhones for their money because of bad signals and drop calls. The problem seems to be happening when a person moves from 3G network to a lower speed network, possibly a software problem, and some point at the Infineon chip, which is also used in Samsung phones without any problems according to the chip manufacturer.

When I was at a telecom company, and we were introducing the 3G network, such problems happened with Nokia phones. But who’s fault is it now, and can it be fixed with a software patch. That is something I would suggest waiting for before buying the new iPhone.

Apple Logo

When Jobs made his decision several years back to cut IBM and go with Intel processors, first thing people thought of was running Windows on Mac and vise versa. Jobs still didn’t want to port his beloved OS to the PC. He must’ve knew geeks are gonna get Windows working on Mac. But did he see this OpenMac coming? For $400 you can get your hands on the Mac clone PC. Another $155 for the Leopard installation using an emulator. A move that definitely won’t be raising smile on Jobs face.

Jobs has always believed in locking his OS to his hardware. If someone wants the OS, he must buy the whole package. He saw it as a way for more control and ability to deliver better product, and ofcourse make more money. This is not the first clone of Macs however. Back in 1997, Jobs returned to Apple and wiped out all Mac cloners at the time. A good point that was raised however on CNet Buzz Out Loud is, do Apple fans really want their Leopard running on an ugly looking PC, or do they want the Apple packaging and branding. I believe not.
